SHORT HISTORY ABOUT US

Tabita is a non-profit organization working in the Pretoria area since 2008. 


Tabita has made a huge difference in the lives of several people by supporting them financially, emotionally and scholastically.  Tabita is a community that cares and therefore we are working as a network connector connecting the schools, parents, businesses and sponsors with each other. Mainly connecting the givers with the receivers. Many times, the givers and the receivers will never meet each other.

Mission: 

To make an impact in our community by focussing on the needs and welfare of children and their families in our communities. Tabita strive to play a vital part in the uplifting and also the support of our School communities. Tabita creates a network between the school management teams, the parents and also businesses and teachers in the schools where we have access too. We want to assist schools with a strengthened feeding scheme without schools having to put in al the effort for the collection and distribution of food. By taking hands with schools, churches, social workers and child protection organizations and the Community police we can together strive to not only reach out but to transform lives, restoring hope in hopeless situations.


Vision: 

To be part of a broadened community based program where we can support Schools and other welfare programs such as safehouses, children homes organizations with the same vision as ours and thereby uplift the standard of our communities with a network of schools and churches and businesses taking hands and working together to be the change that the world needs

u  Privacy of our families in need and our sponsors are treated as confidential

u  Strick criteria and assessment of families– no chancers

u  To be salt and light for people in need due to

•       Business transactions that went bad

•       Loss of work

•       Illness or death in a family

•       Families affected by Corona

2. How do we identify our families in  need?

u  School mates reporting it or parents of friends

u  Social workers

u  Teachers and staff at schools

u  Police and community centres

u  Churches

u  People in the community

3. Sponsors

u  Gods grace we survived thus far

u  Parents in schools

u  Businesses

u  Schools collecting food through harvest days

u  Helpende hand/Solidariteit

u  Helpjag providing meat in the hunting season

4. Projects 
u  Tabita is sponsoring children with school projects, sporting opportunities and
      cultural activities like school choir and eistedfodd or special uniforms not
      given by school. 

u  We received a sponsorship for a family who have never went on a holiday
     before.

u  We sponsor stationary at the beginning of each school year 

u  Second hand clothing and household goods.

u  Bicycles and toys for children who has nothing.

u  Baby accessories.

u  Matric farewell support, clothing, makeup, car, photos

u  Emotional support with the help of counsellors who support Tabita
u  Medical Doctor who helps us with the needs of people seeking medical
     treatment.
